睇多D,用多D就識ga la. I am too lazy to read, therefore, most the words I know are only related to my work such as the terms in tender docunments & other construction terms. But my wife loves to read story books so that she know a lot more words than me. I found that hard to know English better when I was in HK, I didn't have enough chances to use it. Thank god I worked at Dairy Farm Airport Catering Department when I was there and still had the chance to speak English on a day to day bases. I believe I could speak better than average when I was there.
Try to memerioze from the dictionary is not a very good method. Because if you don't have the chance to use those words, they only can be a "short term" memery in your brain. The only way that I can suggest is read more. Try to read more newspapers or books (of course in English). They might help. I also noticed that you like to write. Try to write in English instead of Chinese. That will increase the chances for using English and should improve your English too.
