遊戲開發商Bethesda Softworks公司近日對外宣佈其體育模擬遊戲大作《AMF極限保齡球2006》（AMF XtremeBowling2006）全面上市，有XBOX和PS2平台兩個版本。在遊戲中，玩家可以選擇多種比賽模式，其中包括訓練賽、快速比賽、錦標賽、聯賽、挑戰賽和賽事挑戰賽等等。不過在此之前玩家可以創建極富個性的角色，你可以定制其衣著、面布表情和頭髮顏色、髮式等元素。此外你還可對其加速度、精確度和旋轉度等多種屬性進行調節。根據不同的遊戲模式，你將被賦予多種任務，例如獲取某些戰利品、撞擊次數、通過規定地點的數量等等。挑戰賽為玩家分配了三種通關方式，而賽事挑戰賽則會將玩家按照各自的喜愛進入不同的特定場景當中。錦標賽和聯賽支持最多16個選手的對決，其中真人選手可達八人。

系統提供了多種調節投球的方式，還有多種不同風格的潤滑油，以及大量機會用以調整角度。而你的最終目的就是以最精準的方式擊中最可能多的保齡球。遊戲畫面上三個標識，一個用於開始，一個用於設定投球力度，而另一個則是用於設定精準度。通常每次擊球你都應該選用不同的路徑，反覆使用不同的路徑會遺漏掉一兩個保齡球。要想命中目標並不是件容易的是，系統會要求你以45度角擊中球體，這又使難度大為提升。每一局玩家要想全部命中目標，通常要用五次以上才能完成，而電腦AI的智能度較高，通常都是一擊命中。為了適應不同玩家的需求，本作設定了多種難度。保齡球在每種難度等級下的動態表現都會有所不同。整體上看，本作的畫面效果較為出色，當你全部命中目標屏幕會極度閃耀，同時還會有相關的文字提示。而在人物模型方面則表現平平。遊戲背景音效採用的是吉它曲，很有節奏感。
